Although dragonflies look similar to damselflies, they differ in many ways. First of all, dragonflies are usually larger and powerful fliers than damselflies. However, the main difference is in the way dragonflies hold their wings when they are resting. While dragonflies hold both pairs of wings horizontally, damselflies fold them above their body.

Dragonflies and damselflies belong to the Order of Odonata, but their suborders differ. The former's suborder is Epiprocta and latter's is Zygoptera.  Also, the eyes of dragonflies meet in the back of their head.

Both dragonflies and damselflies enjoy feasting on flies and mosquitoes.
