HOW MANY SPECIES OF ALLIGATORS ARE THERE?

Alligators belong to the crocodilian species, which include crocodiles and gharials. There 23 species of crocodilian, but only two living species of alligators: the American alligator and Chinese alligator. The fossil record shows several extinct species of alligators.
