WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMERICAN AND CHINESE ALLIGATORS?

The difference is in their size and habitat. The Chinese alligator averages 2.1 meters (6.9 feet) in length, while the American alligator is twice as long—averaging 4 meters in length (13.1ft).

The Chinese alligator rarely exceeds 45kg, while its American counterpart is much larger at 360kg (794 lbs) on average. While you find millions of American alligators in freshwater environments across the United States, the Chinese alligator is native to China only.
