WHERE DO KATYDID BUGS LIVE AND WHAT DO THEY EAT?
Katydid bugs live in all regions of the world except the cold areas of Antarctica. They live in bushes, grasses and tree branches in Africa, the Amazon rainforest, parts of Canada, Europe and Australia.
IKatydid bugs are 1 to about 6 cm (0.4 to about 2.4 inches) in length and are mainly green in color to match their habitats for camouflage purposes, which is one way of warding off predators. The exception is the predatory bushcricket (Saga pedo), which grows to 12 cm (4.7 inches) in length. Katydid bugs feed on green foliage although some also feed on other insects.
