WHERE DO DRAGONFLIES LIVE?
Dragonflies live in a variety of habitats, depending on the species. The clubtails prefer running water, while skimmers thrive in stagnant water. Although some dragonflies can’t survive without floating plants to lay their eggs on, the eggs and larvae of some species such as darters can survive droughts.
Some dragonflies such as scarce chaser live in slow-moving water that is slightly alkaline while others—such as black darter and four-sported chaser— will look for water that is somewhat acidic.
